Rioters burn cars used as barricades during violent clashes in Genoa, 21 July 2001. Police and protesters clashed for the second day running at the Genoa G8 summit Saturday and angry activists set fire to an office building as an anti-globalisation march gathering more than 100,000 people began. Clashes broke out when several hundred hardline demonstrators broke away from the march and threw petrol bombs and rocks at riot police, who responded with tear gas. Police were seen making arrests as rescue services helped away several people injured. AFP PHOTO PHILIPPE DESMAZES (Photo credit should read PHILIPPE DESMAZES/AFP/Getty Images)
