Anti-globalization activists move a barrier during clashes with police 21 July 2001 in the center of Genoa. Italian police and protesters clashed again on the second day of protests in the Mediterranean port city hosting the Group of Eight (G8) summit. Police repeatedly fired tear gas at groups of protesters who broke away from a crowd of some 50,000 demonstrators, most of whom walked peacefully through the streets of the city.
